Welcome to the Summer of Love, 2021! In celebration of the annual dog day and Brood X periodical cicadas that will be emerging in Maryland during the 2021 summer, Jeni has created a limited edition set of 4 dog day cicada pins. Become the owner of one of only 4 of these sturdy little friends. Each cicada is unique - fabricated by hand as a form of metal origami using Jeni's signature cicada design (ie. logo/brand). The body is hand-formed from 100% copper. Eyes are bronze. Super strong nickel-silver pin and clutch. Thorax has been blackened with liver-of-sulfur, and wings hand-painted with 3 shades of green lacquer. The finish is sealed with hard jeweler's wax for water-proofing and to protect the patina for long wear. Can be worn as a pin/brooch or tie tack.
