HoCo Open: Gallery I

Virtual Reception: January 22, 6-7pm: Join us for a virtual reception via Zoom for our gallery exhibits: HoCo Open and Traces. The reception will include the presentations of the Director’s Choice Award to kick-off the Arts Council’s 40th anniversary and the Covington Emerging Artist Award, presented by Robin Holliday, curator & owner of HorseSpirit Arts Gallery. This event is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is strongly encouraged. To register to attend this event via Zoom, click here to register to attend the virtual reception. HoCo Open is an annual, non-juried exhibit showcasing local artists. Presented in a salon-style format, this immensely popular show is open to artists of all skill levels who live, work, or study in Howard County. This exhibit will also be available to view online. The Howard County Arts Council began accepting entries for HoCo Open on November 5th; and accepted only 100 entries.

Baltimore Jewelry Center – Holiday Sale
Join Jeni Elizabeth at the BJC 2020 Holiday Sale! We are excited to be participating in this holiday sales opportunity at the Baltimore Jewelry Center (BJC) for jewelers. BJC will be hosting our annual Holiday Sale in the studio Friday, December 4 – Sunday, December 6. Participating artists’ work will also be for sale on our website and will have the opportunity to participate in the Station North Market as a vendor as well (more information forthcoming).
About the BJC: The Baltimore Jewelry Center is an educational nonprofit building a vibrant creative community for the study and practice of metalsmithing and art jewelry. We educate and inspire new and established artists, as well as promote metalsmithing and art jewelry to the general public through exhibitions, community and educational outreach.

In a year of social distancing, join the celebrated way to make heartfelt connections with friends and loved ones this holiday season. There’s perhaps nothing more personal than a gift of the arts. “Artists Sunday” is the Sunday after Thanksgiving. November 29 this year. Artists Sunday is an art shopping movement of more than 2,000 artists, local arts agencies, cities, counties, state agencies, chambers of commerce, and organizations coming together to encourage consumers to shop with their favorite local artists and craftsmen during the holiday season. Artists Sunday takes place the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Think of it like Black Friday or Small Business Saturday but for the arts.

The MICAMade Marketplace is an online marketplace for Maryland Institute College of Art’s vibrant and dynamic community of students, staff, faculty, and alumni. As we grow and evolve we are working to increase the number of artists and makers participating, and make the platform available to the entire arts and culture community in Baltimore, Maryland.
